Hattusha (Çorum, Boğazköy), as the capital of the Hittite Empire, has been a very important center in Anatolia for centuries. The city, which was previously called "Hattuş" by its first owners, the Hattis, took the name "Hattusha" after the Hittite rule. B.C. Hattusha, which was taken by Anitta, the king of Kuşşara city in the 1700s, was destroyed by Anitta again. Anitta is the first Hittite king in written records. About a century later, the city was re-established by Hattusili I and became the capital of a civilization that would rule for more than 400 years. The great majority of which can be seen today, the Great King IV. Ruins from the Tudhaliya period include temples, royal residences and city walls.
